Hi guys, the name is akumous -- a gamer -- and this is my blog it is about my one of many passions such as video games. Basically this is centrally my gamer's blog where I will not post about videogames but other geeky material such as anime, comic book films, hardware, and I will occasionally vent about the nonsense that antagonize me about the gaming industry. Although this blog is a work in progress...it is my tool for escapism and fun. Thanks in advance for following my page.

Why didn't Sony and Microsoft ship their consoles with at least 2 terabyte of storage?
You know why I don't own any of the new consoles? It is not because they are no games out that truly take advantage of the hardware or the games I am remotely interested in are coming out several months down the line or I am patiently waiting for all the hardware bugs to kink out....wait. I am solely waiting for the hardware bugs and poor design choices to kink out and one of them is limited storage space.
If an average game requires at least 30 gigabyte of storage space to play then why these game manufacturers shipped consoles with 500 gigabyte? It doesn't make any sense to me since that space will be required to do other media content and console updates. That space is going to be eat up in a matter of weeks. However, at least Sony made it convenient to up the system's hardware unlike Microsoft.
Does next generation games really have to eat up so much storage space? Are developers being lazy in not implementing better file compression technology so that the games won't eat up so much space...I think they are and I will give them a break since they were in a rush to get the games out in orderly fashion.
So I am hoping games of the new generation won't eat up so much space and hopefully the new consoles will ship with reasonable store space like at least a terabyte or 2.
I may delve in the new generation later this year once a stellar game comes out. For one, I am content with my PS3 because I am hoping the it will get the same treatment as the PS2. PS2 was indeed one of the best gaming consoles ever made due to the longest gaming and manufacturing support. It really has some amazing games, games I have missed out on and I won't even bother playing because I am too lazy to get the composite cables or converters to play on my current set up.
I will keep my PS3 connected and I am hoping great games like the Persona series will cross over. In case you all feel I may be a fan boy, the truth to it, is I was. But now I just want to play great exclusive games for either platform, whether it is PC title, PS4 title, or Xbox One title and I won't miss out like I did years ago.
Right now, however, my finances are funneling towards a car because FL public transit is ass. Fucking atrocious. I hate it with a passion. It is no way as informative and reliable as New York City. I really do need a car, and I will make that investment come into fruition this year. With that being said, I may not have the opportunity to buy all two consoles in one shot. So I will have to go with the PS4 console first since Sony has a solid business approach than MS. And once the consoles are bought, I have a personal mission of building a powered personal computer because my new Macbook Pro Laptop just doesn't cut it for gaming. I can't even get the installer to work on the Mac, legitimately, to play Warcraft III....and I won't be installing new gamers because I don't have the space for that. I am using that storage for movies and anime, and I don't even have enough for that. Ugh....Anyway I am going to get ready to head off for work. Later.
