Street Fighter V Beta test phase 2

Capcom made some minor changes to interface but it still doesn't speak out to me. It still has that washed out blue theme going for it but at least it has more layers/options to it. I will not go much into detail about it because that is minor but I will go into the gameplay of the specific characters -- Vega, Necalli, and R.Mika.

So far there is no character that speaks to me other than Necalli. He hits very hard and his character design is one of the best out of new cast introduced. However, my worries are still in the gameplay and the game's interface. The gameplay is missing depth...the character's move list seems limited and simple which worries me in regards of the game's longevity. The option to link normal attacks into special moves seems limited in comparison to previous Street Fighter titles; and the amount of special moves characters have in general are limited as well.

I am quite underwhelmed with the current build of the game...and if Capcom progresses with this path they are taking then they will lose me. There is a reason why I continue playing 3rd strike...and there is a reason why that game still is a classic, sadly SFV is slowly revealing to me that it does not have those characteristics that could make it a classic  fighter.

My thoughts on Street Fighter V

It has been a while since I have post a sentence on here but I have been busy with work and getting things together. Anyway, let us get into the heart of this post instead of sharing my personal life because that is not we are here for.

I have stopped play Street Fighter IV or to be more precise the third of fourth entry of Street Fighter IV with Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition because in my regard, that entire iterations of that entry has not been fulfilling.

I gotten tired of the easy inputs/ short cuts and other atrocities because that game does not live up to the Street Fighter classics such as Street Fighter Alpha 2 and 3, and Street Fighter III 3rd strike. Those are my favorite games and I still play 3rd strike today.

That being said, I am loving the graphical presentation of Street Fighter V and although I have yet to play it with the arcade stick because I am patiently waiting for the inevitable SFV themed arcade stick with Madcatz, I am a little weary of the direction of SFV.

Street Fighter V seems too simplified. It needs more layers to make it the game it is seeking to be; the system is promising but it is lacking something. I can be lenient and forgiving for Capcom's decision in making the inputs more lenient because it actually makes the online experience less frustrating. However, I think the game needs more supers or more V-skill options in stead of one, respectively.

Additionally in terms of graphical presentation, the game reminds of 3rd strike and since Capcom has the financial support from Sony, what is stopping the company from the giving the fans what they wanted -- character specific stages.

Anyway those are gripes and I have more but I am currently in session of watching Net Flix's House of Cards, quite of engaging and enlightening series.  I know I am going off of topic here and I am and I will say this before I end this...I want Street Fighter V to be the next generation game for all fighters or the game that truly surpass the Street Fighter classics that we hold so dear in our hearts. I do not want to have ever to revert to old games because they are better games; I want to play current one because it makes classics look dated in comparison. Sadly, Capcom, has not given me that game. I stopped playing Street Fighter IV entries because there gameplay mechanics were degradations in comparison to 3rd strike. Non Capcom fighters such as Guilty Gear and Mortal Kombat X have evolved genre but lacks the popularity of Street Fighter.

Capcom...you have several months to give us the game we have been asking for...please do not fuck it up.
