Hi guys, the name is akumous -- a gamer -- and this is my blog it is about my one of many passions such as video games. Basically this is centrally my gamer's blog where I will not post about videogames but other geeky material such as anime, comic book films, hardware, and I will occasionally vent about the nonsense that antagonize me about the gaming industry. Although this blog is a work in progress...it is my tool for escapism and fun. Thanks in advance for following my page.

Why does Dragon Ball Super exists?
What is the relevance of Dragon Ball Super other than an easy cash in due to the its legacy brand? In retrospect, in Dragon Ball Z, we learned about Goku's origin and the expanded relationships between iconic villains and heroes as Goku's kindness and mercy transformed them to better people - Vegeta and Piccolo comes to mind. However there were some villains that could not be changed but yet gave us the best action set pieces and moments in the franchise history. In other words, I understand the relevance of Dragon Ball Z, it was a practical sequel to Dragon Ball, but I do not understand the importance of Dragon Ball Super.
Trust me, I was one of the many who were super hyped for a new Dragon Ball series. I wanted to see what the animation could have looked like in high definition format animated with modernized tools in placed. We were teased with OVAs and a movie and from what we saw, most of us -- included me -- were pleased.
Sadly, Dragon Ball Super currently has the worst animation I have ever seen to date. It hurts the presentation and the narrative especially when it comes to fight choreographs which is puzzling to me because should be the one aspect the animators should focus on, the fights. Dragon Ball franchise is known for the fight scenes and it is hard for me to fathom why the animators cannot get it right. Despite being heavily edited -- DBS has little to no blood, the sound effects that given the fights more impact have changed dramatically to more subtle and forgettable effects -- I am sure their ways to make the fights more dynamic and memorable. They did it once, with one episode, episode 39 the fight between Hit and Goku, that episode where Goku unleashes his trump card, Kaio Ken fused with Super Saiyan Blue transformation. However, episodes like that are far and few between especially compared to standard action anime like One Punch.
Outside of the anime presentation, what is the purpose of the narrative, the story, why does DBS exists? To this day I cannot come with an answer other than to make money. Dragon Ball Super does not have a compelling story; and the fight scenes are nothing to talk about...it is by far one of the most disappointing animes to date and the worst anime out there.
