Hi guys, the name is akumous -- a gamer -- and this is my blog it is about my one of many passions such as video games. Basically this is centrally my gamer's blog where I will not post about videogames but other geeky material such as anime, comic book films, hardware, and I will occasionally vent about the nonsense that antagonize me about the gaming industry. Although this blog is a work in progress...it is my tool for escapism and fun. Thanks in advance for following my page.

I don't watch Cable TV!! Is it valid anymore.
Hi my name is Dev and I am a game. I would not consider myself a millennial -- an individual born in the 2000s -- because I am generation X -- I was borned the 1980s era. During my time growing up, I was considered a game-freak, a geek, and a weirdo because I watch anime, play games, and play magic the gathering instead of playing football and doing what those cool kids did in that era during their teenhood.
Now times have changed huh?! It is cool to be gamer. The gaming industry is a multibillion dollar industry and it has become legit because of it. Comic book films draws in more revenue to Hollywood films more than anything else. Yeah, times have changed, and I am fucking loving it.
However, the question is cable TV valid in this day and age? Personally, I do not have cable, I don't care for it. I consume most of media content from Youtube and I watch my movies from Netflix and other streaming services for anime and so on. Youtube has much more content that tailors for me in an immediate fashion than Cable TV can ever deliver.
I am currently watching a major fighting game tournament, CEO 2016, while I am constructing this blog. Um, the only thing that saves cable from going into complete extinction is sports. Once Sports crosses over firmly then Cable is going to be done.
Most kids or millennials do not even own a PC and they care for it because they have all the computing properties and entertainment needs within their respective model devices -- whether it is a smart phone or a tablet. Which explains the lack of focus in the PC market...owning a PC has become a niche market for a selective few. The money, as far as gaming goes, is in mobile devices. Console gaming, however, is quite valid due it adapting and broadening its flexibility with cross platform gaming and implementing mobile functions and options. For instance, current consoles have built in apps for streaming via popular streaming websites such as Twitch and Youtube. Secondly, I can use my PSN app to download and install games far from home and then come home meeting said content installed and ready to play. It those conveniences that solidifies the console's relevance for today's gamer.
But what about cable tv? The prices for cable tv is so ridiculous compared to the alternatives. The internet is so massive and resourceful when it comes to media consumption.
I predict, 10 years from now, the millennials, especially the ones with an entrepreneurial spirit is going to change the game. Cable TV, is going to be obsolete, or at least cater to niche market. They will be laws in support of "free internet" instead of laws designed to impede it due to corporate relics reluctant to adapt and accept change. E-sports will be as big as American Sports in America and then on a Global scale instead of less than a handful of selective countries such as Korea, for example.
Imagine, a significant number of Generation X and Millennials today spend most of their idle time watching Youtube videos of user content of all sort of nonsense and informative things. And once our generation becomes the marketed majority in terms of dollars per se then the way how society consume content is going to change for the better. That is if you are a geek like me...:)
