I cannot wait to see episode 48 for Dragon Ball Super and is it....:)....I will not go much into it since it is best I do my review after the episode is watched. Sorry, I am quite random like that and who knows I will probably will delve more into it before I end this segment but before that let me talk about a game called Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves.
Gaura Mark of the Wolves or Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves, was SNK's answer to capcom's Street Fighter III 3rd strike. Both games were the pinnacle fighting games of its time bot in graphical presentation and fighting mechanics. 3rd Strike has the parry system going for it and Mark of the Wolves have the just guard system -- which is remotely similar in concept to the parry system but much easier in execution and it not only nuffy attacks but rewards players with little health.
I as said a few times, SNK games, in my regard, are more charismatic in character presentations and the games are much more rewarding and fun. Sadly, Capcom games are much more popular but not really better. SNK, initially copied from Capcom and then found its own rhythm or differentiation as time goes on.
Mark of the Wolves done a better job in evolving the series and the story and it did not alienate the player base by introducing weird characters like Capcom's 3rd strike. I always wanted a sequel to Mark of the Wolves because it is such a fun game. I had the game for the sega Dreamcast and I have a few copies of emulated version on my harddrive in the storeroom somewhere. However I have been dying a real sequel and continuation to the story.
SNK knows how much we want a sequel and I guess if King Of Fighters 14 sells well -- if the netcode does not suck then it will sell well on its own merits -- then we will probably get a true sequel to Mark of Wolves
I found a screenshot of pre-work of Mark of the Wolves 2 at eventhubs.com. SNK was working on the game at some point but it was canceled. The game probably was canceled due to the company's poor financial standing at that point. SNK was going through some economic hardships during the early 2000s and they went bankrupt until a company bought them out and then it became SNK PLAYMORE. We know now as SNK because the company is going back to its roots and they may revitalize some neglected franchises such as Fatal Fury.
I am sad this game did not come out...sources said it was suppose to come out 2005 but it got canceled. That is OK...I believe we will see a resurrection of this iconic series. I just hope when they work on this, the company finds its footing in mastering the 3D modeling because I still think KOF14 graphical presentation looks atrocious.
I think fighters should have a decent or a superb presentation instead of dated like graphics you know or at least have an amazing art style. Look at Nintendo's games for example. There are not technical advance but the game's art style more than compensates for it.
If you guys want to see a return of the Mark of Wolves please spread the word around and blow up SNK forums to let them know that you want to see this game into fruition. The more fighting games the better it is for the community.
